Growing up in Jackson, Tennessee, Beth Heatherly attended college at Jackson State Community College, Memphis State University (now University of Memphis), Lambuth College (now University of Memphis – Lambuth), and the University of Louisiana Monroe, earning A.S., B.A. and MAT degrees, as well as a post-graduate paralegal certificate from the National Center for Paralegal Training. She earned a Masters Degree and certification in Special Education with endorsements in Algebra I and General Science & Biology. As a teacher, she received numerous accolades including 2008 Neville High School Teacher of the Year, Monroe City Schools High School Teacher of the Year, Louisiana Regional High School Teacher of the Year. She also wrote and received a $3000 grant for classroom technology. Beth was an early adopter in using technology and social media in the classroom. She served as faculty sponsor for Neville High School Freshman & Junior Varsity Cheerleaders, Neville Interact Club, and South Side High School Beta Club.
After teaching in public and private schools in Louisiana and Tennessee for 22 years, Beth retired from education in 2015 when she moved with her husband, Roy, to Wichita, Kansas.
Beth has been married to Roy Heatherly for 35 years. They have 3 grown children and 3 wonderful grandchildren who all live in Louisiana.
Beth enjoys volunteering for a number of causes including the United Way, American Cancer Society, Alzheimer’s Association, and Read to Succeed.
