Billy V. Taylor entered his heavenly home on Tuesday, December 6, 2022.

He was born in Madison County, TN on September 16, 1938, the son of the late V.T and Charmlin Ford Taylor.  He attended and graduated in the last class of Mercer High School, where he played basketball.  He served in the Tennessee Army National Guard and served as the Postmaster of Mercer for over forty years.  He was a member of Mercer Baptist Church for over sixty years, serving as a Deacon and Treasurer.

Along with his responsibilities as Postmaster, he enjoyed row crop farming, tending his cows and running his bulldozer just for fun.  Family was very important to him. He loved being a part of each of their lives.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Carol Upton Taylor, of Mercer, TN; two sons, Bill Taylor and wife Jennifer of Denmark, TN and David Taylor and wife Shelley of Toone, TN and his daughter Sandy Acred and husband Billy of Cedar Grove, TN along with seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Patsy Taylor of Mercer, TN and Dottie Taylor of New Castle, IN.

Billy was preceded in death by two brothers John E. Taylor and Bobby A. Taylor.

SEERVICES:  A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2022, at Mercer Baptist Church, with Rev. Carl White and Rev. David Lucius officiating.  Burial will follow in the Maple Springs Cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends on Friday, December 9, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
