Donald W. Fox, 72, of Olathe, KS, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, February 15th while in the comfort of his family.  Donald was born in Sioux City, IA on Feb 1st, 1948 to Alfred and Peggy Fox.  He was the 2nd oldest of six children.  (Jimmy/Donny/Mary/Ruthie/Billy/Kenny) He grew up in Sioux City, IA and attended Bishop Heelan High School.  After graduating from Heelan in 1966, he joined the Air Force and was stationed in Monterey, CA, to attend linguist training at the Defense Language Institute.  Upon completing his Military Training, he was deployed to an Air Force Base near Athens, Greece as part of the 6916th Security Squadron.  It was during this time in Athens, he met his future wife Areti.  After nearly a two year romance, he proposed to Areti, and they were married in Sioux City, IA in May of 1971.  His son Christopher was born in 1972.  Their son Gregory was born a couple of years later in 1974, and they added Stephanie to their family in April of 1980.

In the midst of starting a family, and working full time, Donald attended Briar Cliff College and managed to complete his Business degree in only three years.  He earned a position as a Purchasing Coordinator at Marian Health Center upon completing his degree.  In 1983, he moved his family to Olathe, KS after accepting a position at Baptist Medical Center.  He went on to hold several positions in the Healthcare Industry, most notably as a Materials Manager at Research Hospital.  He was later promoted to Vice President of Materials Management at Health Midwest, and he eventually retired from Nueterra Capital in 2014 after a long and successful career in the Healthcare industry.

Donald’s proudest accomplishment was being a dedicated Husband, Father, and Grandfather.  Donald leaves behind his loving wife Areti, his Son Christopher and his wife Jennifer, his son Gregory and his two children Josh and Jenny, his daughter Stephanie and her husband Jevon and their three daughters Jayla, Alexis and Athena.

A Visitation will be held Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 10:00 AM with Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at St. Dionysios Greek Orthodox Church, 8100 West 95th St., Overland Park, KS  66212.  Graveside service will follow at Johnson County Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS  66210

A reception will follow the services at St. Dionysios Greek Orthodox Church.
