
James C. Ferguson (Jim), 84, Overland Park, passed away Friday December 6, 2019. Jim was born February 9, 1935 in Appomattox, VA to Morris and Evelyn Cullop Ferguson. He grew up in Richmond, VA where he played basketball and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1954. After graduation, Jim attended the University of Richmond and married the love of his life, Beverley Clarke on May 11, 1957. He worked for the Bayer Company for 35 years and retired as Regional Sales Manager in 1995. Jim and Beverley spent their winters in Naples, Florida where he enjoyed fishing on his boat, “Crow’s Nest” fondly named after his childhood nickname, Crow. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Morris Ferguson and Bill Ferguson. Jim is survived by his wife, Beverley, Ferguson, two children: Jim Ferguson (Jane) and Karen Tennant (Kevin); five grandchildren: J.B. Ferguson (Amber), Jeff Ferguson, Kyle Tennant (Kaitlyn), Kory Tennant, Kailey Tennant Brady (Kevin); one great-granddaughter, Jordan Ferguson, fondly adorned by Jim as the Queen Bee; Sister-laws: Virginia Ferguson and Pat Ferguson. Jim was a member of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, where his Celebration of Live service will be held on Friday, December 13, 11 a.m. at 13300 Kenneth Road, Leawood, KS. A private burial will be in the Faith Indoor Mausoleum at Johnson County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jim’s name can be made to the American Parkinson’s Disease Association (Parkinson.org) and the aforementioned church.
