Narcie Lee Alderson, a long-time resident of the Jackson, died Sunday October 7, 2018 at Regency Retirement Village. She had just turned 95.Born in Madison County on October 1st, 1923, to Freda and Nick Dennison, Narcie was the oldest of six brothers and sisters who also resided in the West Tennessee area. She has three surviving siblings, James, Curtiss, and Patricia Dennison.      Narcie attended West Tennessee Business College and worked in the Dietary Department at the Jackson General Hospital for 29 years until her retirement in 1985.Narcie was married to Edwin B. Alderson, former Chief of Police for the City of Jackson until his death in 1995. She was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Police and at one time served as president. Narcie and Ed were married for 53 years and resided in the Jackson area. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Alderson Wilson, who currently resides in Richardson, Texas, a suburb of Dallas, Texas. Narcie’s son, Robert E. Alderson, also a long-time resident of Jackson, preceded her in death in 2016 and is survived by his wife, Jane Alderson. Narcie had four grandchildren, Jonathan and Jared Wilson, Amy Alderson Otto and Allison Alderson DeMarcus. In addition, she had five great-grandchildren who reside in Nashville, Tennessee and the Dallas, Texas area.Narcie was very active in the Calvary Baptist Church, teaching children’s Sunday School and helping with nursery duties. Her love for children was evident in her interactions with her family but also seeking opportunities to serve the children in her church.

There will be a viewing Tuesday, October 9, 2018 for family at Arrington Funeral Home at 1:00pm followed by graveside services. The graveside services will be held at 2:00pm at Highland Memorial Gardens 3360 North Highland Avenue, Jackson, TN 38305.The family has requested in lieu of flowers for donations to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association alz.org or 800-272-3900.
